Male to Soneva Jani - How to get to the island
There are two main ways to arrive at Soneva Jani: by seaplane from Velana International Airport in Malé or by flying directly to Maafaru International Airport in the Noonu Atoll. Upon arrival at Velana International Airport, guests are greeted by a Soneva Representative for local transfers. The seaplane option from Malé is a 45-minute private flight to Soneva Jani. You can choose between a private Soneva seaplane or a Manta Air seaplane, with the latter carrying more passengers and possibly stopping en-route.
Alternatively, if you arrive at Maafaru International Airport, a Personal Guardian will assist with immigration and customs. A complimentary private speedboat service is available between Maafaru Airport and Soneva Jani, with a transfer time of 15 minutes. If you use the Manta Air seaplane instead of the Soneva seaplane, the resort offers a credit of USD 150 NET per person per voyage during peak season and USD 100 NET per person per voyage during the shoulder season. This credit can be redeemed against food, beverages, experiences, and Soneva Soul treatments, excluding third parties and retail outlets. It is recommended to fly into Malé first as it is likely the only direct airport for international flights.
