2. Whole Tower Bridge Houseboat

Built in 1904, the world's first floating Customs House, HMS Harpy is an exceptional 4 bed, super-luxury London home, with the classic postcard view of Tower Bridge. 1920's oak furniture, giant sofa, comfy beds, fine Egyptian linen, quirky art, fast WiFi, UHD TVs, Sky Q & Sonos. The upper deck furniture includes a 1922 Heals oak dining table designed for Winston Churchill's Chartwell house, several other 1920's Heals pieces, a 1925 Savoy Bar chair, two 1928 'LC2' Le Corbusier chairs, two 1935 Alvar Aalto bentwood lounge chairs, six Emeco 1944 aluminium US Navy chairs (with cushions, so they're comfortable), a 1950's Hygena kitchen unit and a Conran circular beech kitchen table. There is a large B&B Italia sofa and a Muji fold-down sofa bed.

The houseboat is flooded with natural light, creating a bright and airy ambiance. Electric heaters provide warmth, ensuring your comfort throughout your stay. Upon your arrival, the hosts will personally greet you and provide a detailed orientation to life on board Galatée and the workings of the mooring. Should they be away, a friendly acquaintance will be available to welcome you.


The interior features two distinct areas accessible through separate entrances. At the bow, a deck with seating leads to the cozy front cabin, complete with a small living room, TV/dvd, and a single sofa-bed. A spacious cupboard separates this area from the cabin, which houses a comfortable double berth. The bathroom offers a basin, shower/small bath, and ample hot water. At the stern, a generous wheelhouse awaits, featuring a table and a couch beneath the roof. The main living space offers a sitting area, dining table, and a well-equipped kitchen. The Ligne Roset sofa transforms into a comfortable sofa-bed, adding versatility to the living space. An additional bathroom serves this part of the boat. Electric heaters and a solid fuel stove ensure a cozy ambiance during the winter months.


Living on board Galatée presents a unique and rewarding experience, albeit with some considerations. The confined space and limited soundproofing require awareness and adaptability. Fresh and drinkable water is readily available from all taps, sourced from a tank beneath the flooring.
